Joe Snuffy is a police officer in a metropolitan area with almost 10 years experience working uniformed patrol and other specialized assignments. He is also a firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, and a field training officer. He is a member of a part time SWAT team and also serves as a police sniper.In addition to his law enforcement experience, he also served in the US Army in a special operations unit and has 23 years of martial arts experience.He holds numerous teaching certifications for police defensive tactics disciplines and is a certified instructor for one of the martial arts organizations he is affiliated with.

He worked as an associate editor and regional editor with Defense Electronics magazine and was the managing editor of The International Countermeasures Handbook.
