Echoes from the Dead (originally published in Sweden as Skumtimmen) is Johans first novel. In 2007, it was voted Best First Crime Novel by the Swedish Academy of Crime, was a Top Ten bestseller, and has been sold all over the world. His second novel, The Darkest Room (originally published as Nattfak) was voted the Best Swedish Crime Novel of 2008 and also won the Glass Key for Best Nordic Crime Novel. A journalist by profession, Johan is currently working on the third novel in his Oland quartet of books, all of which are set on the island which means so much to him.
